Poland keeper Tomasz Kuszczak will miss the European Championship after injuring his back.
Kuszczak underwent an MRI scan in Graz, Austria on Friday afternoon after a morning training session. Doctors decided he had suffered "changes in the spinet" which make him unable to "participate in normal training sessions" and matches for two to three weeks.

Poland coach Leo Beenhakker has asked UEFA to replace Kuszczak with Korona Kielce's Wojciech Kowalewski.

Kuszczak, who backs up Edwin van der Sar at Manchester United, was fighting with Arsenal 'keeper Lukasz Fabianski for the No. 2 spot in the Poland squad behind Celtic goalkeeper Artur Boruc.

The decision comes a day after midfielder Jakub Blaszczykowski left Poland's camp after aggravating a hamstring injury. He was replaced by Hertha Berlin's Lukasz Piszczek.
